Returning to Comfort

Our cruise itinerary included two days in Cabo San Lucas and one day in Ensenada, Mexico. While my family and I had a fantastic time exploring, booking our own excursions, and experiencing the local culture, there was a specific, undeniable luxury at the end of those days.
When you're out exploring a new city, you walk for miles, you get hungry, you get hot, you get tired, you get sweating, you get achy, you get the point.
But one of the things I loved most about being on a cruise ship was the feeling that we could push ourselves that hard, safely knowing what awaited us at the end of the day.
There was this amazing feeling as we approached the ship after a long, exhausting day. Walking towards it (or taking a boat shuttle), you know you are returning to a beautiful floating hotel. You know there is a comfortable room waiting for you, complete with crisp, clean sheets. You know there is an abundance of food and drinks (and A/C) ready the moment you step aboard.
In our case, we were lucky enough to have a stateroom with a deck that looked out over the ocean.
Once we had washed off the exhaustion, the sweat, the dirt of the day, grabbed a bite to eat, and settled back in, the evenings became the highlight of the trip. There was something truly special about sitting out on our private deck, watching the waves roll by, and taking in the sunset as the boat sailed away toward our next destination.
I found our vacation to be perfectly balanced. We had the adventure and exertion of travel during the day, followed by the absolute peace and comfort of our floating hotel at night.
